Washington County’s unemployment rate remained the same in February according to data from the Iowa Workforce Development. Washington County has over 11,000 people in the workforce up slightly from January. The unemployment numbers either remained the same or went down an average of one third of a percent in all of southeast Iowa.
The lowest decrease was in neighboring Henry County while Louisa’s unemployment rate remains at 7.8%. The statewide estimate of those receiving benefits went up by 300 people.
