Shade Tree Program for MidAmerican Energy Customers
Posted By News On @ 6:24 am In Today's Local News | Comments Disabled
The Johnson County Extension has partnered with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources and MidAmerican Energy to sponsor a shade tree program. Gene Mohling with the Johnson County Extension says any MidAmerican customer is eligible to purchase trees as part of their “Plant Some Shade Tree Program.” He says advance purchase is required due to the limited quantity.
Mohling says the trees can be bought for less than the average retail cost because of a grant from MidAmerican Energy. He adds you should consider the size and maturity when picking the right tree.
Mohling says they have five different types of trees available. To find out more, contact the Johnson County Extension at 319-337-2145. The order form can be found here .
