In the Washington City Council’s budget for the next fiscal year, it shows a need for more income.  The Council approved their budget for the upcoming fiscal year Wednesday evening revealing a higher property tax line item.  According to City Administrator Dave Plyman the tax rate for every $1,000 worth of property, the amount is $14.98.

He says last year the amount was 50 cents lower.  Plyman says the main reason for the increase is to fund the new wastewater treatment facility.
