The Washington Township Optimist Club is sponsoring a basketball contest for children tomorrow.  Jonas Hochstedler says both boys and girls ages Kindergarten through 6th Grade are invited to take part in basketball contests.  He says children will participate in contests of dribbling, shooting and passing. 

Hochstedler says medals will be given to the top 3 scores for both boys and girls in each age group.  He notes this contest has been going on for at least 15 years at Washington Township Elementary.  Registration is free and begins at 8:30 tomorrow.  The contests begin at 9:00 at Washington Township Elementary in Johnson County.  For more information, call Jonas Hochstedler at (319) 683-2304.
