Washington College Students Not Experiencing As High of Debt
Posted: February 9, 2011 @ 6:25 am In Today's Local News
Undergraduate college students in Washington are not experiencing debt upon finishing school as compared to students on a statewide basis. Kirkwood Community College Washington Center Director Nancy Rash says she does not see many students having a large amount of debt when completing a program when compared to a similar student at a larger university in the area. She says many of their students receive federal student loans or grants to offset the amount of the debt.
Rash says some students have planned ahead and taken some college classes during high school to reduce the amount of debt. She notes Washington students are offered a financial literacy program in high school to learn about future finances.
Rash adds they also offer a financial literacy program to college students to help teach them about being responsible with their money. To find out more about college grants or loans, click here [2].
