Washington County set a record high yesterday.  The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities has confirmed yesterday’s high for Washington was 67 degrees.  Weathereye Meterologist Michael Karow says the record warmth was caused by a combination of a ridge of high pressure and southerly winds.

He says the very warm weather stretched across much of the upper Midwest to near the Canadian border.  Karow says the nice weather from yesterday will be short lived as we go back to near normal over the weekend and into next week.  The previous record high for yesterday was 66 set back in 1981.
