The Washington Fire Department responded to a car fire in the 1000 block on East 2nd Street yesterday morning. Fire crews were able to contain the fire to the engine area of the car. The vehicle’s owner Gail Edwards says she was in the process of moving the car to the street so it would be easier for a tow truck to take it to the salvage yard. No one was injured in the fire and the Washington Fire Department was able to stop the fire within 15 minutes.
