Voter Pre-Registration Deadline Is Tomorrow, Absentee Voting Continues
Posted: October 22, 2010 @ 6:22 am In Today's Local News
Washington County Auditor and Commissioner of Elections Bill Fredrick is reminding eligible voters who have not yet registered of tomorrow’s deadline. Fredrick says Iowa law allows voter registration on election day with proof of identity and residency, but says the possibility exists for confusion and check-in backlog on November 2nd. He says to avoid delays, make sure to pre-register with the Auditor’s Office by 5 pm Saturday. Forms and more information can be obtained online at co.washington.ia.us [1] or by calling the Washington County Auditor’s Office at 653.7777.
All Iowans can now vote for November’s midterm elections at their county auditor’s office or apply for an absentee ballot online. The Auditor’s Office is open weekdays from 8 am to 4:30 pm, with special hours this and next Saturday from 8 am to 5.
