Washington County Auditor and Commissioner of Elections Bill Fredrick is reminding eligible voters who have not yet registered of Saturday’s deadline. Fredrick says Iowa law allows voter registration on election day with proof of identity and residency, but says the possibility exists for confusion and check-in backlog on November 2^nd.  He says to avoid delays, make sure to pre-register with the Auditor’s Office by 5 pm Saturday.  Forms and more information can be obtained online at co.washington.ia.us ^[1] or by calling the Washington County Auditor’s Office at 653.7777.  The Auditor’s Office is open weekdays from 8 am to 4:30 pm, with special hours this Saturday from 8 am to 5.
