The Washington County Riverboat foundation recently announced its Mini Grant Awards and the City of Kalona received over $15,000. These grants are designed to reach applicants who have a small project they would like to complete. The City of Kalona received $2,000 each for the Library Entrance project and Library Children’s area makeover. The Kalona Historical Society received $2,000 also for Education and Going Green, Kalona Chamber of Commerce and Kalona First Responders also received money.
