Today mark’s the end of 4-H celebrations across the country, with special emphasis in Iowa from a declaration by Governor Chet Culver for the “Taking the Lead” themed week. ISU Extension says 4-H is the largest youth development organization in America, serving more than six million young people across the country.  Washington County 4-H Youth Coordinator Kati Pfeiffer says more than 500 youth participate each year in a variety of activities, both on and off the farm.  4-H is supported by donations, grants and federal, state and county funding.
