The Washington County Healthy Community Coalition will kick off its Five Year Community Health Improvement Plan this evening. Washington County Public Health Director Chrystal Woller says nearly 28% of Iowans are obese, and Washington County residents mirror that high percentage.  To combat obesity in Washington County, the new five year plan places emphasis on nutrition and physical activity.  Adolescent health will also be addressed by focusing on teen pregnancy, suicide prevention and bullying.  The kick off event is this evening from 5 to 6 pm at the Washington County ISU Extension Conference Room.
