The first phase of Washington’s 2010 Paving Project began on September 20th with the closure of South 9th Avenue between Washington and Van Buren Street. City Engineer Rob McDonald says local traffic and parking continues at this time but residents’ driveways won’t be accessible when paving is removed in early October. The Engineering Department says the current estimate for pavement removal is Monday, October 11th. Public notices will be posted on residents’ doors 48 hours before the new phase of construction begins, which is scheduled to last through early November, at which time residents on South 9th Avenue between Washington and Van Buren Street will regain access to driveways. For more information, call Washington City Engineer Rob McDonald at 653.6584 Extension 23.
