A second water rescue was necessary at McKain’s Access last week. Saturday night the Washington County Communications Center received a 911 report of a vehicle that was stuck in water near McKain’s Access on Dogwood Avenue near Brighton. A third party caller reported hearing people yelling from a vehicle that was caught in the water. Emergency personnel from the Brighton Fire Department, Brighton First Responders, Washington Fire Department and Rescue Squad, Washington County Ambulance, and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene. The driver, Jake Franckowiak (19) of Washington, and a passenger, Michael Dice (20), of Washington had to be rescued by boat. The roadway was closed by Washington County Secondary Roads August 12th due to flooding. Jake Franckowiak has been charged with failure to obey a traffic control device and trespassing. Michael Dice has also been charged with trespassing. Earlier last week Kyle Sobaski (17) of Brighton, had to be rescued by boat from the same location.
