Title: Highland High School Kids Fun Run
Description: Highland High School Student Health and Wellness Committee is hosting the First Annual One-Mile Kids Fun Run on Saturday, September 18 at 8 a.m. Registration begins at 7 a.m. at Riverside Elementary. The Student Health Committee will be using the proceeds towards implementing nutrition and fitness programs within the school district. Food and drink will be available after the race. Registration before Tuesday, August 31st costs $10 and guarantees a t-shirt. Registration after August 31st is $15.

Title: Eighth Annual KET Memorial Golf Outing
Description: The eighth Annual KET Memorial Golf Outing will be held on Saturday, August 21 Lagos Acres in Keota with tee off at 11. This is a Two Person Best Ball with an eight inch cup event. The cost is $50 per team with a cart or $40 without a cart. There will be meal and raffle items available. Contact Dixie Conrad at 319.863.3032 or Bryan Tobin at 319.461.4006 for more information.

Title: Joy \”Un-Speak-A-Bell\”
Description: Handbell soloist Kristine Stout of The Joybell Theater and Gift Shop in Nashville, Indiana, will provide a special concert titled “Joy Un-Speak-a-Bell” at 7 p.m. on Friday, August 6, at the Louisa County Heritage Center in Wapello. Tickets are $7 at the door. Proceeds from the concert will support the Louisa County Historical Society.

Title: WCCB “Small Wonders”
Description: The Washington County Conservation Board will be hosting a “Small Wonders: Hop, Skip, and Jump” program on Saturday, July 24. The program will begin at the Conservation Education Center at Marr Park at 10 a.m. There will be stories, crafts, and hands-on activities about how animals move. There is also a hike to look for animals and animal tracks. All children, ages 3 – 5, must be accompanied by an adult. This session is limited to 14 preschoolers. Title: Washington Mennonite Church Bible School
Description: All children aged four years old to those that have completed fifth grade are invited to attend Washington Mennonite Church’s Vacation Bible School from Monday, July 26 through Thursday, July 29 at Crooked Creek Christian Camp.
