A Washington area woman has donated the funds needed to place a piano in the city’s public library. Library Director Patrick Finney says Jean Potratz gave to the library because of her belief in the public arts, and the money will be used to purchase and restore an 1888 Steinway Model A grand piano.  The library has a substitute piano on loan until the new Steinway model is ready this fall, and the Washington Free Public Library Foundation is launching a fund raising campaign for new piano’s upkeep.
