The founder of www.lesttheybeforgotten.org [3] says every day is Memorial Day for people in his situation. Greg Garvey’s son Justin was killed in action during the early days of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. Garvey’s organization aims to create, establish and help maintain hometown memorials for those who have died during the war on terror. Garvey visited Washington recently to talk about his organization ahead of Memorial Day.
