A lag at the state level has prompted a special city council meeting in Kalona tonight. City Administrator Ryan Schlabaugh says the council is slated to approve a liquor license renewal for the Tuscan Moon. He says the state didn’t have the permit finished in time for their last meeting, so to avoid a lapse in the establishment being able to serve alcohol, a special session was scheduled. The meeting is tonight at 5:00 in the Kalona Community Center.
