Tenative Agreement Could Save 9 Jobs in Washington School District

The union representing teachers in the Washington School District are slated to vote on a proposal that could save nine jobs. Superintendent Dave Sextro says a tentative agreement between the district and the Washington Education Association would have teachers take a lower cost insurance plan. In return, faculty would still be afforded scheduled pay increases based on experience and education. The nine positions were initially cut as part of an effort to fill an 800-thousand dollar gap left by state budget cuts.
