A southeast Iowa state lawmaker says she’s extremely concerned about the Department of Human Services reorganization. Becky Schmitz says that while technology has made many things easier, DHS clients often don’t have access to it. DHS officials have said they’d like to see more business go online. Shmitz serves on the Human Services Budget Committee. The Fairfield Democrat says they were able to move some money around to avoid an even larger staff reduction for the state agency.
