The clock is ticking for Washington County landowners who want to lease some of their ground for what’s being called the largest wind energy project in Iowa. Riverside State Representative Larry Marek has been working with Tradewind Energy on the project. He says he’s excited about wind energy because it isn’t subject to market speculation the way coal, oil and commodities are. Tradewind representatives have said as many as 330 wind turbines could be constructed in Washington County.
