The Washington School District is expected to increase its tax levy by nearly one-dollar in the coming fiscal year. District officials are hopeful the tax hike, combined with $450,000 worth of budget cuts will help fill the gap left by the governor’s 10-percent across the board cut. A public hearing on the district’s spending plan has been scheduled for April 14.
