Part of Old 34 to be Closed

Part of old U.S. 34 will be closed next week for a bridge replacement project. The Iowa Department of Transportation says the span is over the BNSF Railroad three miles west of Fairfield. They say Hemlock Avenue south of Old 34 will remain open, while Hemlock will be closed between old and new 34. Traffic will have a detour to the open section of the highway, or Filbert Avenue.
