Washington Co. Sheriff Adds Three Reserve Officers

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office has added some new reserve officers. The three are among the first in the area to be certified through the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy. A 2007 law mandates that reserve officers receive such training. ILEA Director Penny Westfall attended this week’s board of supervisors meeting to personally present Kendall Yoder, Eric Long and Mike Bender with their training certificates. Sheriff Jerry Dunbar says this brings his pool of reserves up to 10.
