Washington County has a clearer picture of what emergency officials would need to do during a pandemic. Emergency Management Coordinator Larry Smith says they recently participated in a regional pandemic exercise. Smith says one of the biggest potential challenges during a pandemic would be staffing. He says they predict that upwards of 40-percent of emergency workers could be affected by the outbreak. He says they’re writing a report identifying what areas need improvement.
