Fairfield State Senator Becky Schmitz is offering reassurance that the state government reorganization won’t mean a big change for Empowerment Programs. The legislation would move the early-childhood program from the department of management to the department of education. Schmitz says the bill has nothing to do with funding or what Empowerment’s role is. She says it only aims to streamline government.
