Despite budget cuts expected for the DNR in 2010, the restoration of Lake Darling will continue. Because of the cuts, the state may close certain trails, beaches and even rarely used parks. The lake is currently drained, and when the ground is firm enough, bulldozers will be used to remove sediment from the lake and will also help in rebuilding the dam.
