Washington School Board members have a special meeting scheduled today to discuss a potential real estate purchase. The board will immediately go into closed session as allowed by the Iowa Open Meeting’s Act. The code specifically allows government bodies to enter into executive session when discussing real estate purchases where the “premature disclosure could be reasonably expected to increase the price the governmental body would have to pay for the property.” The meeting is scheduled for noon today at the administration building.
