A Kalona native and graduate of Mid-Prairie High School has completed Air Force basic training. Emmett Allen completed what’s described as an intensive eight week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. He’s the son of Patty Allen and the late Richard Allen. He graduated from Mid-Prairie in the spring.
