Authorities in Jefferson County are warning area residents about a potential scam. Sheriff Jerry Droz says they had a complaint from a local resident who said someone had called them soliciting money to help them with air fare and other expenses to bring home loved ones in the military for the holidays. Droz says the caller claimed the money would be used to bring home Iowa National Guard members. However, the Guard says there is currently no such campaign underway, and that this was most likely a scam
