Ice Expected to Stay North of I-80

Winter weather and potential flooding are the orders of the day as many Southeast Iowans prepare for holiday travels. A flood watch takes effect at noon today and includes Washington County and counties to the southeast. Johnson County and most counties to the north are under winter weather advisory. The National Weather Service says freezing rain and ice accumulation today is expected mostly north of Interstate 80. Minor to moderate travel impacts are anticipated.
