Washington County Supervisors continue to review a proposed zoning ordinance. However, they could be preempted by the state. The Rebuild Iowa Office is suggesting a statewide, integrated planning system. Washington Supervisor Adam Mangold said this week it’s essentially a statewide zoning ordinance. Both Mangold and board Chair Jim Miksch say they would rather have land use issues decided locally than in Des Moines.
