The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks opened their season with a road win last night. The Golden Hawks beat West Liberty 35-28. Golden Hawk Head Coach Marc Pennington says it was a close low scoring game throughout but he says they started the fourth quarter on a 10-0 run which helped. Mid-Prairie had three girls with eight points Olivia Lugar, Mallory McArtor, and Erin Cayton. Erica Murphy had six points. Cayton brought down eight rebounds. The Golden Hawks now will come to Washington to take on the Demons on Tuesday. That is part of a boy-girl doubleheader.
