The Rebuild Iowa Office is proposing statewide, integrated planning system. Some consider it to be a form of state implemented zoning. Riverside Representative Larry Marek says he hasn’t heard much about the proposal. He says there are certain issues that need universal regulation. Marek says the Rebuild Iowa Office’s proposal would take careful study and consideration. According to the RIO’s website, the proposal outlines a framework for a local, regional and statewide planning process. That includes concentrating development and mixed land uses.
