The Council for Resource Development is recognizing eastern Iowa Congressman Dave Loebsack. Loebsack recently received an award for his “contributions to higher education.” The Mt. Vernon Democrat says as a former educator, the award is “very humbling.” He says higher education, especially community colleges, make a real difference in many Iowan’s lives. The CRD gave Loebsack the award for his efforts on the SECTORS Bill, year round pell grants and graduation initiatives.
