A Wellman man was killed in a crash near Kalona Sunday after leading police on a chase. 19 year old James Loren Vest III was pronounced dead at University of Iowa Hospitals. The Iowa State Patrol says Vest was was northbound on Larch Avenue when he lost control of his vehicle, overturned in the west ditch and hit a utility pole. They say the crash happened just after 3:00 AM. They say Vest was not wearing his seatbelt.
