The Washington Demon JV football team beat the Fairfield Trojans last night, then wished them luck in the varsity’s game on Friday. The Demons won 40-20. Washington had 427 total offensive yards. Demon quarterback Joe Harris went 9-13 211 yards and a touchdown. Travis Coleman 4-catches 89 yards, Maverick Goodwin had a 61 yard reception and Collin Steele 3-receptions 32 yards and a touchdown. On the ground for the Demons, Austin Knupp had 6-carries for 116 yards and 2 touchdowns. Kyle Roder 8-carrires 71 yards and a touchdown, and Jordan Kay had 6-carrires 58 yards and 2 touchdowns. Defensively Austin Knupp had 9 tackles, T. J. Rausch recovered a fumble and Chris Wheeler had a pick. The Demon JV improves to 6-2 and will play Fort Madison on Thursday. After last night’s game, the Demons in their team huddle gave a chant to wish Fairfield good luck against Mount Pleasant on Friday. A Fairfield win and a Demons win over Fort Madison would send Washington to the post season.
