Emergency and public health officials will participate in a pandemic exercise next month. Washington and Keokuk County Emergency Management Coordinator Larry Smith says they won’t know much about the scenario, because they wouldn’t in a real situation. Smith says 17 counties are taking part in the pandemic exercise. He says each one can choose what level they want to participate. He says Washington County will go “full scale,” which includes opening an emergency operations center.
