Both gasoline and home heating fuel prices are down in Iowa compared to this time last year. The state department of energy independence says most blends of gasoline are more than ten cents cheaper versus the 2008 mid September report. They say natural gas and number two heating oil are both down by roughly 15 cents, while propane is down only slightly.
