Columbus Junction moving through the planning stages for improvements to the city’s levee. City Council member Harold Prior says before they can begin any sort of construction work, there are still a few hoops to jump through. He says they are waiting on an environmental study to see if construction work would pose any threat to the area. Prior says they are also hoping to get grant money, but they are waiting to hear on their acceptance. He says they want to extend their levee and raise it by 3 to 4 feet.
